Senior standout Mason Magee led the charge with a stellar 31-point performance, despite suffering a lower leg injury in the first quarter. Magee’s resilience set the tone for the Bears, who never let up throughout the game.

The first half was competitive, with Basha narrowly edging out Mesa in both the first and second quarters. Mesa tallied 12 points in the opening quarter compared to Basha’s 15, and the second quarter saw the teams evenly matched, with Basha taking a slight 16-17 edge. Going into halftime, Basha held a slim 31-29 lead, with Mesa showing signs of life offensively.

Third Quarter Surge

The game shifted dramatically in the third quarter, where Basha exploded for 25 points while limiting Mesa to just 13. This pivotal quarter allowed the Bears to create a sizable cushion, entering the final frame with a 14-point lead. With Basha firing on all cylinders, Mesa struggled to keep up, unable to match the Bears’ energy and efficiency.

Closing It Out

Basha sealed the deal with a 23-point fourth quarter, outscoring Mesa once again and ensuring the game ended in decisive fashion. Mesa’s 17-point effort in the fourth wasn’t enough to close the gap, as the Bears walked away with a comfortable 20-point victory. Magee’s Leadership and Team Effort Mason Magee’s 31-point performance was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. Despite the early injury scare, Magee played through the pain, inspiring his teammates with his effort and determination. The Bears’ collective effort, particularly their defensive intensity in the second half, proved too much for Mesa to handle.
